The much awaited  Animday Awards 2014, the first event of the industry-leading animation info-portal Animation Galaxy presented by BOSTO powered by 360 Bright Media  resounded overwhelmingly at its peak this 18^th October, 2014 – a huge number of entries from all over the world – 342 Animation Films, 166 Live Films, 33 Ad Films, 47 Digital Painting, 12 Games Trailers and 37 T-Shirts designs went into the competition area.

This first ever Animday Awards 2014 began with the formal and traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, “Deep Prajwalan”, by the honourable Chief Guest of the event, Col KC Mishra, VSM and former Chief Post Master General, Maharashtra and Goa States.  Special invitees to the event, Madan Pania, Founder & CEO of Voice & Motion Communications, New Delhi, Prakash Bhardwaz-Filmmaker, Amit Jha, Writer & Director Bollywood , film actor Chandrabhushan Singh, Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga, Founder of T-shirts 4Cause and Mukesh Dube Founder, Animaton Galaxy and Animday Awards joined Col. Mishra in “Deep Prajwalan”.  Hosting the show with a brief introduction of the event and sponsors, Dr. Vandana Tiwari welcomed all the guests and participants that evening opening the curtains with a mesmerizingly graceful Ganesh Stuti dance performance by reknowned artist, Nilesh Auti.  Felicitation of the Jury members and guest of the event next, paved the way for an evening to be remembered.

Sunil Pal, Actor and stand-up Comedian, put new life into the evening with his spontaneous wit promoting his film “Money Back Guarantee” that left the audience in raptures.  The presence of Vishal Thakkar, film actor , Gaurav Jha, Actor and Mime Artist, Shiv Sagar, Director, Eastern Motion Picture, and Sameer Mody, Founder and CEO, Pocket Films at the event added new dimensions to the success of an otherwise animation-based event.

AnimDay Awards were given under different categories that included Best Animation Film, Best Live Action Film, Best Digital Painting, Best Game Trailer, Best T-Shirts Design and Best Ad Film.  And the winners are...

Best Animation Film - WILDLIFE CROSSING!  Country - Czech Republic

Jury'S Choice Awards - a Mother, Pune, India

Best Live Film  - IPPADIKKU ( YOURS TRULY ) from Pune India

Best Digital Painting - Abeer Malik, Jamshedpur, India

Best Game Trailer – Orin Machado Vasai, India for Escape Velocity

Best T-Shirts Design - Sandeep Parab, Thane, India

Best Ad Film  -  CHALK , Bangalore, India

BOSTO International Co. Ltd., a leading technology innovator in interactive pen displays launched its BOSTO Kingtee tablets in India at the AnimDay show.  They also awarded the BOSTO Kingtee 22U mini interactive graphic tablets to the winners under the Digital Painting and T-shirt Design categories.

A runaway success at the evening function was the Society for Animation in Delhi (SAID)’s re-launched as “Animindia” – an upgrade from its Delhi-based presence to an all-India avatar. Almost the entire team, led by its young new President, Subhash Siddhu, another of our special guests that night, was present at the stage savouring rounds of applause from the audience.  Speaking on the occasion Siddhu said “the Society’s name was perceived as being only for animators in and around Delhi, though the name was given only because the office is in Delhi. SAID is for everyone.  And to correct the perception among animators all over India, we are re-launching ourselves with a new name “Animindia”.

Varun Mehta founder of WIZ motion studio launched the trailer of his upcoming movie “My Last Visions” in the event. One of the most graceful and energetic dance performance was by Hitesh and Sneha of Step High Dance Academy.  Soulful song performances by Pravin Satyam and Ankit Pandey on the one hand, and by Shawn and Samarth on the other lent even more inspiration to a motivational talk by Swapnil Ingle.  The first edition of the Animday Awards could not have been successful without the support and dedicated efforts of our mentors , Jury members , Volunteers and Photography team “Pictures Together” “Nikhil Ranade Photography” and “Reckon Pictures” who captured the most memorable and precious moments of the event.

The success of the event would have been incomplete without our Creative Director Mr. Ashutosh Pandey & Festival Director, Mr. Harshvardhan Trivedi.
