The ‘Twilight’ star admits to becoming more environmentally conscious after working on the reboot of the classic tale
Kellan Lutz happens to be a hunk with a heart. The ‘Twilight’ star who has lent his voice for the role of Tarzan in the upcoming motion capture animated movie Tarzan 3D admitted to becoming more of an animal lover after closely being associated with the project. While the actor recently made headlines for ringing in his 29th Birthday with a baby elephant in Phuket, not many know the actor is also an active animal rights campaigner. Not just that, fans also got a glimpse of the actor's new naturalist avatar at the Academy Awards 2014 as he proudly posed for the red carpet in his eco-friendly suit alongside Bond girl Olga Kurylenko.
Talking about the effect working on Tarzan had on him the Hollywood hottie revealed he tries to encourage people to become more animal friendly in any way that he can. “I have always loved animals. But now I try to spread out a word in any way that I can. Now that I have done these movies and have a platform to reach out to my fans, I try to speak to anyone who listens. They’re really the best, animals."
Well we can safely say, Kellan Lutz is not only blessed with the looks of a greek demi-god but also with a heart of gold. The actor's upcoming project Tarzan 3D retells the classic tale by Edgar Rice Burroughs in motion capture animation. The story begins with an expedition in the remote African jungle; John Greystoke and his wife are killed in a helicopter crash while investigating a mysterious meteorite site. Only their young son J.J., nicknamed Tarzan, survives. A group of gorillas discovers the boy in the wreckage and takes him in as their own. Tarzan grows up learning the harsh laws of the jungle for nearly a decade until he encounters another human being - the courageous and beautiful young Jane Porter. It is love at first sight. But things get dangerous when William Clayton, who travels to Africa with Jane under false pretense, reveals his true - and greedy - intentions. Tarzan, now a man like no other, must use all his jungle instincts and intellect to protect his home and defend the woman he loves.
Directed and produced by the German film-maker Reinhard Klooss, the family entertainer stars Kellan Lutz, Spencer Locke, Anton Zetterholm and Jaime Ray Newman. The movie will hit Indian theaters on April 18, 2014.
