Red Stick Festival announces the 2012 Best of the Fest
The Red Stick International Animation Festival has selected the finalists for its 2012 “Best of the Fest” film competition from the following categories: Animated Short -Professional, Animated Short – Student, Experimental, and Music Video. The films that received the highest scores from the first-round jury underwent further review from the festival staff and a panel of animation professionals to determine the finalists.

The Red Stick International Animation Festival “Best of the Fest” 2012 finalists are:

*  Shadow and Mallow
*  Note-ably Pink
*  Going Up
*  Age of Empires
*  Why Do We Put Up With Them?

Category: Animated Short Film – Student
*  A Complex Villainelle
*  From Dad To Son
*  Little Boat
*  Live outside the Box
*  Omerta
*  The Innocent
*  Outside In
*  Yogurt, Inc
*  The Last Photo
Category: Experimental Animation
*  Impetus
*  The Cycle of Life
Category: Music Video
*  Sunbelt State
*  Countdown

The festival’s professional film jury will review these films to determine the winner for each category. In categories for which there is only one film entered, the jury will determine whether the quality merits the award. The top work in each category will receive the festival’s Red Baton award. As in previous years, Red Stick International Animation Festival will announce the Red Baton winners during the festival. Red Stick is sponsored by Louisiana State University’s Center for Computation & Technology and the  East Baton Rouge Parish Mayor-President’s Office.
