Juan Pablo to head up UK Commercials VFX Studio
Acclaimed 3D Supervisor Juan Pablo Brockhaus has joined Prime Focus to head up the UK Commercials division's VFX Studio. The former Joint-Head of Nuke at The Mill will complement the studio's existing talent and spearhead the VFX side of the 'Global Digital Pipeline', which enables the sharing of work and talent between the group's facilities in London, North America and India.Juan will work with Chief Creative Officer Tareq Kubaisi and our Creative Directors and VFX Supervisors to grow the London offering.
 
 
 
He will also continue to develop the international CG pipeline, working alongside Ben Cowell-Thomas, the recently appointed Commercials VFX Supervisor in Mumbai, and Jake Braver, Managing VFX Supervisor at the soon to be launched New York facility.Starting out as a 3D Animator in Germany in 1997, Juan held several permanent and freelance positions before moving to London in 2005, and taking up the post of Senior 3D Artist at Glassworks. After two successful years, he moved to The Mill, where he was promoted to the role of Joint-Head of Nuke.Juan has been involved in some major projects including commercials for KIA, Lacoste, Orangina, VW Beetle, Bacardi, Nike and Guinness. He is experienced in using software such as Softimage, Nuke, Shake, FCP and Maya and is currently finishing a live action short film that he has written and directed.Tareq Kubaisi, Chief Creative Officer at Prime Focus, said of Juan's appointment: "Our VFX Studio has some incredible talent within it already, and we feel that Juan will complement these artists perfectly. I'm delighted to have Juan, Jake and Ben on board."Joining Juan at Prime Focus Commercials is VFX Supervisor Aman Kang. Aman, who has 16 years experience within the visual effects industry, will work across both Smoke and Flame at the 37 Dean Street facility. He has previously worked at Golden Square, Kpost, Carlton Film and Blue and his credits include projects for Coca Cola, Swatch, Nokia, Harrods, Stella Artois and TK Maxx.
