CGI VFX Behind the Scenes Breakdowns " The Immortals"
Rodeo FX has been working on this action packed film with visionary director Tarsem Singh and Relativity Media from pre-production until final delivery. Rodeo FX also created a CG army in this sequence consisting of thousands of soldiers. Rodeo FX was responsible for creating the encampment, and also the shrine set, both of these key environments for many of our matte painting establishing shots. Rodeo FX is often called in for 911 work, and it was also the case on Immortals. Rodeo swooped in towards the end of shot delivery to improve 10 shots and the monastery asset to create the aesthetic VFX Supervisor Raymond Gieringer was after, and had not been able to previously obtain.
The scope of the work on this film was huge and involved the coordination of all our departments. Tarsem Singh's films are known for their stunning visuals and Immortals is no exception. Rodeo FX was truly honored to be a part of this epic film, giving us a chance to showcase what we do best, creating world class visual effects.The Immortals is a 2011 3D fantasy film directed by Tarsem Singh and starring Henry Cavill, Freida Pinto, and Mickey Rourke. It was released in 2D and in 3-D on November 11, 2011 by Universal Pictures and Relativity Media.This film incorporates some elements from classical Greek myths and was filmed using 3D technology.
