Mumbai, May, 2014:  Reliance MediaWorks, the media and techno-creative solutions provider and a part of the Reliance Group has solely handled the end to end visual post production including VFX, Color Grading, Digital Intermediate & Digital mastering for the recently released Bollywood entertainer Hawa Hawai.

A tribute to people who dare to dream, Hawa Hawai is directed by acclaimed filmmaker Amole Gupte; renowned for his sensitive Stanley Ka Dabba & the poignant writing of Taare Zameen Par; and features Partho Gupte and Saqib Saleem in the lead.

The story revolves around Raju (Partho) and his efforts to learn skating along with his struggle to keep his family going as he is the sole bread winner. The movie promises something for everyone, whether it is drama, emotions or struggle weaved in with a strong story line.

After contributing extensively to recent blockbusters like 2 States, Gunday, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Ram Leela and winning the National Award for Mandrake! Mandrake! Reliance MediaWorks has now worked on over 300 VFX shots for Hawa Hawai.

The climax of the movie is where the critical portion of VFX has been done at a stretch for 6 minutes. It is the depiction of a roller skates race, wherein the crowd has been multiplied with the use of VFX. This not only helped make the scene more realistic but also helped reduce the production costs and logistics that would have otherwise been a hassle for the entire unit. Effective utilization of VFX technology to bring about production efficiency is trend that is catching up in cotemporary Indian cinema and Reliance MediaWorks is a forerunner in the trend offering end to end visual post production services.

Amole Gupte, Director, Hawa Hawai said, “Hawa Hawai is a tribute to every person who has the courage to dream. I have had a long standing working relationship with Reliance MediaWorks and thus in order to convey this story of human triumph I needed partners that were not just technologically up to date but worked with the right intent and commitment. That is precisely where Reliance MediaWorks stepped in.”

Deepa Bhatia, Editor, Hawa Hawai said, “VFX today forms an important part of every film, helping us give the audience a great realistic experience. We are happy with Reliance MediaWorks for the effort they put into making this film a visual spectacle, as Hawa Hawai is a very special film.”

The film's color grading has been done by K.N. Naik, Sr. Colorist, Reliance MediaWorks.  “A movie requires a good screenplay and edit, but colour correction is also of the same importance. Naikji has been instrumental to get the perfect balance of vibrancy and subtlety in the films look. He did a fantastic job and enhanced it in the best way possible” added Amole Gole, DOP, Hawa Hawai.

Krishna Shetty- President, Post Production Services – Reliance MediaWorks said, “It is always a pleasure to work with Amole and Deepa. They are both highly talented individuals and always come up with sensitive tales of human success. We are happy be a part of yet another journey with them, and look forward to continue this long standing association.”
