Tell us a little about who you are. Whom do you work for and What job do you do?
My name is Pritam Saha. I live in Dhubulia,West Bengal. I am 3rd year student who has secured bengali hons,at Dwijendralal College. I am doing the work for my own satisfaction. I am a drawing master by profession.
At what age did you start drawing?
From 3.5 age
What obstacles, if any, have you encountered along the way?Since I am from the village I was lacking good materials but my teacher has supported me by providing me all the materials from kolkata.
What was the hardest technique for you to learn as a Artist ?
Copying something exactly as it appears.
What equipment and materials do you use?
- Artist water color
- Camel oil colors
- Stic Hexa Oil Pastels
- Faber-castell oil pastels
- Staedtler pencils
- Camlin nouvel
What impact has technology had on your work?
Technology helped me a lot to improve my drawings
What are some of the resources you’ve found most helpful?
Cotton swabs are very useful to finish my pencil arts.
Do you do your coloring by hand or on the computer?
I will do colouring by hand.
If you do your coloring by hand, what do you use?
Brushes, pencils etc.
Do you feel that the Internet is a blessing or a curse?
Blessing in disguise.
Who is/was in your life the most supportive of your art?
My mom(Geeta saha) , dad(Prasanta saha), Tarun Mandal(art teacher), uncile(Prabir saha) have given very much supportive in my art.
What do you feel - talent or passion is more important in drawing?
Yes, if you have talent & passion it will help you to do drawings more accurately.
In one or two sentences describe your drawing area.
I want to draw every types of drawings. It helps me to update my knowledge.
What thing do you hate to draw?
Nothing - anything which is harmful to the public at large.
Do you have any routines for uncorking your creativity?
No, it depended on my mood.
How do you feel your work has progressed since you started your career?
Good but slow
What inspired you to choose a career as an artist? How did you go about pursuing it?
My teacher Tarun Mandal has inspired me to choose career as an artist. Since I was born artist I was totally dedicated to do the art.
Do you conduct any kind of seminars or workshops? What sort of events and seminars would you recommend?
No.I never conducted any seminar or workshops. I am thinking of arranging a small seminar with my paintings.
