MIST Fresher’s course a roaring success, second batch announce

After an overwhelming response from the first batch of advance training module for young professionals, MIST (Maya In-studio Training), is all set to announce its second batch for Fresher’s. MIST is a first of its kind initiative by leading Indian animation studio, Maya Digital Studios of Mr. Ketan Mehta, which provides young professionals an opportunity to work on live projects during the formative years of their career. The batches for the new fresher’s course at MIST will begin from 16thAugust, 2013.
“At Maya we’ve always evolved with the times and kept pace with the best in the global trends in the animation & visual effects industry. Keeping in sync with this idea, we started with the fresher’s course. We are very happy with the response we received from the students and are happy to announce our second batch within 15 days of the launch of the course”, said Ketan Mehta, the promoter and founder of Maya Digital Studios.“The Fresher’s course further fulfills our objective of creating the human resource eco-system that will drive the future of this industry”, he further added.
The fresher’s course at MIST fills the gaps between institute training & production. Students will be provided in-depth knowledge in photo-shop & Maya (Modeling, texturing, lighting, Rigging & Animation) for first three months. Candidates will then be examined for their interest area and their talent will be further nurtured as per their artistic inclination.
Speaking on this occasion, Aruna Kumar, head of MIST & the Studio Operations stated, “Animation industry is in a phase where a candidate wants to learn animation as a 1st choice and not as an alternative career. What they need is hand- holding and guidance to take their dream of becoming an animator ahead. Maya’s freshers course offers that personalized hand-holding along with giving them an opportunity to work on live projects, making it an obvious choice for them”.
MIST'sfreshers course is a nine month's programme, which includes six months of intensive presonalised training and three months of paid internship.Each batch consists of 15 seats only ensuring personalized attention to every student. Artists are carefully handpicked at MIST, after a meticulous selection process, and the selected MIST interns get to work on projects like MotuPatlu, Sholay, Captain Vyom, The Centsables amongst others. Any graduate, undergraduate in any subject can take admission in MIST’s Fresher’s course after clearing the aptitude test and as per the Mentor’s / HOD’s one – on – one interaction.
