In the event of the International Animation Day on October 28, 2012, Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics (MAAC), one of the leading 3D Animation and Visual Effects (VFX) training institute has organized the ‘World of Animation @ MAAC  Contest’ across its centres from October 28, 2012 to November 2, 2012. As a part of the contest, live animation sets would be created by MAAC students and the sets would be thrown open to the visitors to have a first-hand experience of the marvel of animation.

The enormous growth that the animation industry has showcased in recent times has lured potential students to pursue animation as a career. Hence, the International Animation Day is an important event for MAAC to leverage upon. For the contest, the students would design the front office or entrance of their centres based on the theme of 24FPS 2012 and create live animation sets to promote their films. MAAC would be celebrating the animation week also by MAACTHON- An animation Marathon, Cricket Matches, Seminars, Workshops, exhibits, Flashmobs at several locations etc..
Every year, MAAC hosts 24 FPS international Animation Awards to showcase and honour the best talent in the Indian animation industry. This year, ‘The Ninth Annual 24 FPS International Awards 2012’ would be held on December 7.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Ram Warrier, Business Head, MAAC said, “In the pretext of creating a festive environment for the World Animation Day, we at MAAC would be holding the animation contest. We would be happy to have visitors at our centres who could witness the stupendous animation sets created by our students. We are hopeful that it would be a one of a kind experience for everyone joining in for the celebrations.”
