Mumbai Women’s International Film Festival (MWIFF) arrives to paint the city ‘Pink’ from 8th to 14th October.

Mumbai Women’s International Film Festival (MWIFF) organized by Oculus Creations with the support of Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) will be held in Mumbai from 8th to 14th October 2013 with the objective of giving women filmmakers a platform of their own at an international level.
Many Bollywood filmmakers like Piyush Mishra, Sharmistha Roy, AparnaSud, RachnaRastogi, Honey Irani, AnjumRajabali, AlankritaShrivastava,K.U.Mohanan,KamleshPandey,AshimaChhiber,ArunaRaje,Dr. Achala Nagarwill be conducting workshop to provide in-depth knowledge about films and cinema to the delegates of the festival.
The festival will also have the support of Nandita Das,RenukaShahane, SumitraBhave and HoneyIrani with their films being screened followed by interactive session with them. Films of ZoyaAkhtar and ReemaKagti will also be showcased at the festival. Further with the support of Bollywood celebrities who with their performance or presence will grace the festival are SaiParanjpye, NawazuddinSiddiqui, Shaan, ShibaniKashyap, ShilpaRao, HemaSardesai, AbhilashaChellam, RajashreeWarrier and the list is endless.
Festival Director AvinashPawar said,” The festival has tried to cover major parts of Mumbai reaching out to the maximum film lovers and also invited top Bollywood celebrities to conduct workshops in order to imbibe the knowledge of cinema to film makers and film lovers”.
The festival will be screening more than 150 films from across 70 nations at 6 different venues so as to reach out to maximum film lovers and to showcase maximum films possible of the women filmmakers. The festival gives its delegates to attend the grand ‘pink-carpet’ Opening ceremony, screening of films, seminars, master class, workshops and ‘pink-carpet’ Closing ceremony.
