Mumbai Women’s International Film Festival (MWIFF) to be held in Mumbai from 8th to 14th October is organized by Oculus Creations with the support of Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) aims to give women filmmakers  an international platform to showcase their talent.

The festival along with many Bollywood celebrities has ShabanaAzmi supporting it.ShabanaAzmi is one of the finest leading actress of the industry who has bagged n number of national and international awards for her laudable acting skills. Film coordinator,Mr.Ravi Hathalia said, “The festival is honoured to have the support of ShabanaAzmi who is a prominent and noted actress of the industry who with her commendable acting skills has shown ‘the power of a woman’ and thus she will uplift the value of the festival with her presence.”

Many Bollywood celebrities have supported the cause of encouraging women filmmakers during the fest and some of the names include Nandita Das, ZoyaAkhtar, ReemaKagti, Nawazuddin Siddque,SaurabhShukla, Naseeruddin Shah, Piyush Mishra, Honey Irani, RenukaShahane,LeenaYadav,AlankritaSrivastava,AshimaChibber and SumitraBhave who with their presence will either grace the event or their films will be shown at the festival.

At the First year itself, MWIFF has grown to become one of the most awaited Film Festival in Mumbai. MWIFF in its first year received 459 films from over 70 nations out of which over 180 will be screened. The delegate registrations have started and can be made through festival’s website www.mwiff.com. The festival is coming up with Pink Carpet Opening Ceremony and ‘Fatma Begum Award’ for the best feature film,Fatma Begum was India's first women film director.
