Recipient of the Computerworld Smithsonian Award in Media Arts & Entertainment and the Shellenberg fine art award, Versace to visit Banaras, Kolkata and Mumbai and to engage Indian photography enthusiasts in Digital Photography
MUMBAI, August 28, 2013: “It’s the best and worst of times, to be honest. The best is more people are experiencing the creative impulse and expressing themselves artistically, which means happier people. The worst is the growing belief that ‘I own a camera, I am a photographer’,” observes Vincent Versace, an internationally recognized pioneer in the art and science of digital photography.
Taken by Versace’s work and his distinct perspective on photography, Tumbhi.com, the talent showcase platform for aspiring photographers, writers, actors, models, singers, music composers, short-film-makers, lyricists and poets has invited him, to India in September. During India Visit, Known for his ‘Natural Light Photography’, he will conduct workshops on Digital Photography in Banaras, Kolkata and Mumbai.
From 20 to 22nd of September, in holy city of Banaras, he will share hands on experience through outdoor session. In this workshop, enthusiasts will get a chance to explore and experience fine art photography, bokeh (the aesthetic quality of the blur) and advanced black & white photo art. He will also engage photographers in ExDR i.e. Extending the Dynamic Range of Focus Through the Use of Image Harvesting.
On September 24 & 26, he will engage photographers in better use of cameras, lenses and the post processing choices in Kolkata & Mumbai, respectively.
Versace describes India as the meetings of the spirit and the spice of life in one place, all at once. “The vibrancy of colour - both in the actual sense of the word and the ‘colorfulness’ of the people from inside out and outside in is encouraging,” shares he.
He says, “As the world becomes a smaller place because of the volume of people in it, the need increases to be found and effectively heard.
