"New meaningful initiatives in the pipleline"
The Society for Animation in Delhi held its 3rd Annual General Meeting today, August 10, 2103, at its registered office. Though re-scheduled for lack of quorum from August 3, 2013, the meeting was well attended and momentous decisions were taken at the meeting. Vinay Ajmani, Treasurer, presented the third Audited Annual Accounts, which were confirmed and accepted along with the Auditors' Report. The Auditors' were also re-appointed till the end of March, 2014. While keeping its AGAFA programme under wraps, President Madan Pania, laid down the programme for the remaining part of the financial year announcing an Industry meet-up in late September (and early January), GURUMANTRA 4 in October, AGAFA 2013 in December and visits to PAI-ILS, Azam Campus, Pune, Gujarat University, Ahmedabad and Wiz Studios, Aligarh.
An interesting resolution at the AGM was the launch of 2 incubation centers for member animators to work on live projects of Member Production House owners, adopting OPEN SOURCE software, for which the Society would provide skilled trainers for the makeover. Animators, trainers and production houses would all be paid stipends for the incubation period at fixed rates, which were also finalized but kept under wraps. Launching a plethora of merchandise, SAID said that members would get the merchandise at discounts of about 35% on the MRP, to take away as souvenirs. Surbhit Kashyap, Life Member of SAID, made an interesting concept animation presentation, while attending the AGM after quite a long gap.
Members present expressed strong support that the Society had taken good initiatives to become a meaningful organization for the animation industry in and around Delhi.
